What does your role involve? As the Senior Business Manager for General Merchandise, Front of Store and Cigarettes, my role involves managing a team of people to develop and market a number of categories, so we deliver the best sales and profit result for the company.
What are some of the key skills needed to do your job effectively?

What are some of the rewarding challenges involved in getting your job done? There are many challenges you face in managing a large portfolio, from tough negotiations with vendors to stock issues to trying to turn around poor performing categories. However, despite all the challenges there is nothing more rewarding then the satisfaction of achieving a great sales and profit result.
How has your career at Woolworths Limited evolved? I joined Woolworths Supermarkets as a Business Manager in Health and Beauty in 2000 when Woolworths centralised the Buying Office. After 3 years in the Buying and Marketing Department, I moved into our Mercury division and looked after one of our supply chain projects and then managed the vendor communication and change management program for Mercury. I returned to Buying and Marketing briefly before going on maternity leave. While on maternity leave I was promoted to my current role.
Has there been a particular highlight of your career so far? There have been many highlights to my career but the highlight to date is my promotion to my current role.

How do you spend your time outside of work? As a mother of twin baby daughters, most of my time outside of work is spent with my family. We spend time at the beach, with friends and at the park.
