Our people really do make a difference!
We're proud of our people - their talents, skills and abilities. We like to recognise their achievements through state and national training awards.
The culture of our business is about recognising both individual and team achievements. Here is a sample of how some of our divisions recognise their teams' achievements:
Trainee/Apprentice of the Year Outstanding trainees and apprentices get recognised for their achievements. State winners go on to the nationals. Note: not all brands take part in this award.
Young Retailer of the Year Anyone working in retail under the age of 25 can try out. It recognises excellence in retail.
Joe Berry Awards - National Young Executive of the Year An overseas study tour is on offer here. Entrants submit a written piece and present it to a panel of business experts.
Uncle Ben's Scholarship Leading pet foods supplier Uncle Ben's offers a scholarship program. There's an overseas study tour on offer. Entrants submit a written piece and present it to a panel of business experts.
Paul Simons Award It's all about trainee development and is a tribute to Paul Simons (a former Executive Chairman of Woolworths) who was dedicated to the development of young people.
Thank you cards Our people get thank you cards for their good work. The cards are presented on an adhoc basis and are given to an employee in front of their peers.
