Elspeth Martin
Food Academy Trainer - Longlife
"I started with Woolies in 2001, (almost 15 years ago now) in a Replenishment Role. It wasn't long before the retail bug bit me and I chose this as my career."
The Food Academy Trainer role focuses on training and coaching our teams to be sustainable, self reliant and empowered to deliver a great standard daily.
Our current priority is the stores that are being refurbished and upgraded to ensure we are meeting the needs of the communities in the local areas. I have been fortunate enough to be given the opportunity of the lead trainer role, which means I am leading another group of trainers, as well as liaising and scheduling with various stakeholders.."
As for what I love about woolies?
"I love working here because I enjoy developing people and seeing them progress. I have also been constantly challenged, the variety in roles, the size of the organisation means you can have a long and very rewarding career with Woolworths. In fact, the longest I have spent in one role or location is 18 months, you are constantly learning and growing. I have also met many great people and made lifelong friends."
